Exciting News: My work has been published in the Black Beauty & Hair magazine ! Spring Edition 2025, available in PAK's Cosmetic stores and online!
As a London Portrait Photographer, moments like this feel extra special because I don't usually celebrate my "wins:" I normally order my favourite food or treat myself to a cupcake.
This blog serves as a personal diary to document my wins, build my credibility and hopefully opens doors to new exciting potential clients. I truly believe my work will be on billboards one day, with campaigns across the globe. So if you're reading this, please share, comment and be part of the journey.
The start of Spring/April represents rebirth and resurrection. As the flowers bloom and days are longer we really have the opportunity to grow, love and clip dead weight. It's also the start of wedding season and I wanted to share some exclusive images that didn't make the magazine.
One of my favourite parts of capturing a weddings is bridal prep. It gives you the opportunity to connect with the bride and her bridal party in a real intimate setting. You get to photograph special moments: hair & makeup preparation, mum and daughter moments, first look of wedding dress and the little details including the engagement rings, perfume and flowers.
It can feel like an empowering moment too. Although for most of the day you blend into the background, once you establish your presence in the bridal suite, everyone remembers you and respects you throughout the day!
Photographers perspective:
I decided to keep the edits minimal, using only natural light and a single light source. no professional strobes or umbrellas. The goal was to maintain a natural, authentic feel. I wanted the skin texture to remain true to life without looking overly retouched or polished.
Magazine and two page spread
Exclusive images: The images below are an exclusive preview that were not published in the magazine. They are not from a real weddings, but from a styled bridal prep campaign designed to focus on hair, makeup and outfit details. As a photographer, I often work on campaigns and editorial content alongside real weddings, capturing promotional material for brands, beauty teams and e-commerce projects.
